21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

From January 8th-29th, we will be in a church-wide season of fasting and praying.

The Title for this season is “Renewal: Discerning the Will of God”

If you feel like your spiritual life has been lacking the energy and power you need to help you live victoriously, then the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting is a great place to start. As we practice seeking Him first, He will move on our behalf like never before. We will start to see the power of prayer impact our relationships, work, family, and every area of our life. Whether you join us in person or online, we would love for you to be part of 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting.

The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. And once a year we do this corporately as a church to help start our year in a united way. We have many in the body who need prayer and healing, so we pray and fast for them. And we have been given a great vision to reach this community, so we pray and fast that we would stay focused on being led by his Spirit this year, and not be distracted but other things.

Remember, your fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. God desires to bring into our lives.

We have designed a number of elements and events to help assist you in your 21 day commitment.
1. Sunday sermons to help you go deeper into the Bible and apply it to your life.
2. Daily Devotions to keep you in the Bible and hearing His voice every day.
3. Weekly events to help you connect with others in a worshipful and fun environment for encouragement.
4. A Break-Fast Dinner at the end to hear testimonies and celebrate all that God did in the 21 Days.
5. More Fasting Resources to guide you (see below).

Fast types

SOUL FAST

This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.

PARTIAL FAST

This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.

SELECTIVE FAST

This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.

Media-Technology-Behavior FAST

In this type of fast, you choose either things in your life, or bad behaviors, that are keeping you from a close relationship with Jesus. You could fast from TV, social media, cigarettes or alcohol, or anything else that keeps you distracted from going All In. In this fast you will want to make sure you have accountability, as the pressure might be a lot to handle alone. Let us know using the form above.
